Practically Painless Permanent Makeup Procedures

Use only anaesthetics that are licensed and legal.  Living  In the UK?  Then email me at dawn@dawncragg.net and I will send you some information,  but remember that here we can only use what we can buy over the counter at the pharmacy .Outside the UK?  Check with your insurers and health department.  A few trainers may not be giving you the correct information regarding topical anaesthesia,  We are having a lot of problems with this in the UK. I am trying to create worldwide awareness of this.  Of course, there may be some countries where this does not matter, but it would be advisable to check anyway.

Anaesthetic Advice for Permanent Cosmetics in the UK

I am very concerned that many technicians, and this includes some trainers in the UK,  are purchasing anaesthetics from overseas that are not licensed in this country. To do so is illegal and could result in their insurance becoming null and void. As trainers we are not allowed to sell anaesthetics unless we have a the appropriate licence, even if it is available over the counter. Anyone who is interested is invited to let me have their e-mail address and I will forward the MHRA ( The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) list of licensed topical anaesthetics and copies of correspondence that I have had from them.  As trainers we must not always think of profit but of teaching our students the appropriate ethics. Anaesthetics for permanent makeup.

In my last blog a gave a formula for mixing two topical anaesthetics  together to make a stronger formula.  It does of course depend on what you are allowed to use in your country so the products that I mentioned may not be appropriate in some countries.  Sorry about that.  If you want me to give you some guidelines, find out what cream and liquid anaesthetics you can legally use in your country, and tell me their strength and I will try and advise you.
Someone has asked if we can use topical anaesthetics around the eyes, and I would think the answer is no if you read the instructions, but I think that most people do, with extreme caution.

Week 2. Tip 2- 
Dawn Cragg MBE does not recommend using a magnifying glass or magnifying lamp for permanent make up, because it can distort vision. For example, you might think that you are doing hair-strokes whilst looking through a magnifying lens, but when you take this away you may find that the hairs are much closer together than you thought and you have given your client blocked brows.

The danger of using blue pigment around the eyes.

Never use blue pigment around the eyes as it is likely to migrate making it look as though the clients mascara or eyeshadow has smudged, but she WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WIPE IT OFF. Any removal procedure around the eyes is dangerous and likely to cause scarring unless done by one of the very few experts in this field.  You have been warned, so if you end up in court it will be YOUR fault only!  I don't want this to happen to any of you.

WEEK 1. TIP 1-

Check your insurance policy and you may find that are NOT insured for bad workmanship, should your client complain about the shape of or the resulting colour your work.
Read the fine print in your insurance documents.
Remember without insurance you could loose your business, your personal property and most definitely  your self respect.
